Awarded to the rider judged to have had the most successful racing year. Open to U.S. riders competing in AMA or international events and to foreign riders competing in AMA-sanctioned events.

AMA PROFESSIONAL SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Awarded on the basis of a single outstanding incident of sportsmanship, for recognition of outstanding efforts not directly related to motorcycling, or for "lifetime achievement

Open to U.S. riders competing in AMA or international events and to foreign riders competing in AMA-sanctioned events; and to any other person involved in AMA Pro Racing, such as team owners, mechanics, officials, media representatives, sponsors, etc.
