Roadside Assistance

When trouble strikes, the AMA has two great programs to help members get back on the road. AMA MoTow arranges a tow for you. International Help 'N Hands has no direct fee (though donations to cover phone line expenses are encouraged), and members agree to help fellow members who break down nearby. Both programs require prior enrollments (separate from AMA membership) and offer toll-free phone access anytime. Read on for more details, then sign up today!

Now you can enjoy peace of mind (and save a lot of money) on the road while riding OR driving, with AMA's MoTow Motorcycle Roadside Assistance or MoTow-Plus, covering your cars, pickups and trailers in addition to your bikes.

MoTow Motorcycle Roadside Assistance

We motorcyclists love the open road -- not sitting beside the open road with a broken bike, a lost key or an empty gas tank. We hope your rides are uninterrupted bliss. But if reality intrudes, and you need emergency roadside assistance, MoTow is your best call.

Sign up for MoTow service, available exclusively for AMA members and their families, and ride with the peace of mind of knowing help is just one phone call away if your motorcycle breaks down or you're involved in an accident. With MoTow, you're covered no matter what you ride.

MoTow Plus, for bikes, cars, pickups, and trailers

Why pay more for other national towing and roadside assistance plans that only cover cars when you can pay less and cover all your vehicles, including motorcycles, with MoTow Plus?

MoTow Plus provides all the benefits of MoTow for your motorcycles, and then adds coverage for all your cars, pickup trucks and trailers, when driven by you or your spouse.* All for $59.95 a year.

Why pay more when MoTow Plus gives you more?

  • Add the benefits of MoTow for your car or pickup truck:

  • Flat tire assistance.
  • Mechanical first aid: minor adjustments (not including parts) to repair the vehicle.

International Help 'N Hands
Wherever you ride, there's a friend nearby

Imagine starting off on a trip knowing that you had a friend in virtually every part of the United States and Canada, a motorcyclist who had already volunteered to help you out if you had trouble? When you join International Help 'N Hands, you become a part of a network of over 8,500 individuals and businesses available to aid fellow Help 'N Hands members.

If a member needs assistance on the road, they simply call the toll free 800 number on their Help 'N Hands card from anywhere in the United States or Canada, and an operator will give them the telephone numbers of the closest Help 'N Hands members--24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Members volunteer to be listed on a computer printout indexed by phone number and city only. Anonymity is guaranteed, as names and addresses are not given out.

Many join the program for added protection when they travel, then find that the chance to help out a fellow member in distress is the most rewarding part of their involvement with International Help 'N Hands.

". . .then I remembered my Help 'N Hands card. I would encourage anybody that rides to join--help is just a phone call away. Thank you very much."
Dan Pecora - Golden, British Columbia

"Thanks to your Help ' N Hands hotline, what could have been a disaster was averted. Thank you to all who helped."
Brian Beebee - Roslyn, PA

". . .got me back on the road again. Thank you to Help 'N Hands. . ."
Norman Grathwohl - New Ulm, MN

There is no fee to participate in the program, though members are encouraged to make donations to support the cost of administration and the inbound telephone lines. Those who donate $5 or more will receive a commemorative International Help 'N Hands pin.
