AMA Video: How Malcolm Smith was introduced to HusqvarnaPosted March 2, 2010
In 1966, a man walked into a Southern California motorcycle shop. He walked out with a deal that would help put Husqvarna motorcycles on the map and change motocross in America forever. The racer this man, Edison Dye, just signed to race his new motorcycles was Malcolm Smith, off-road racing legend and future AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer. Here, in an interview conducted at the Indianapolis Dealer Show in February, Smith remembers how he was approached by Dye and talks about his first impressions of the bike. Both Smith and Husqvarna will be honored at this summer's premier vintage motorcycle event: AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days in Lexington, Ohio, July 9-11.
