AMA announces 2010 AMA Racing East Hare Scrambles Championship Series schedulePosted December 14, 2009
The AMA announced today the 2010 schedule for the AMA Racing East Hare Scrambles Championship Series. The series awards AMA No. 1 plates across a range of age, skill and displacement classes to some of the country's fastest woods racers. "We're excited to continue offering this series to our youth and adult amateur hare scrambles racers," said AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley. "Along with the counterpart series in the West, this championship includes courses that range from tight woods to open desert. But because racers only have to compete in their regions to earn national recognition, following either complete series is less taxing on the racing budget." Hare scrambles are conducted on long, marked-loop courses through woods or desert and over rugged natural terrain. Events feature a designated number of laps or time limit, typically two hours. Competitive riders not only need to be fast, but also physically fit enough to maintain a race pace for hours. The youth series runs in conjunction with the adult program starting with Round 3. Typically, youth classes run on Saturdays, and adult classes run on Sundays. The initial round of the 2010 AMA Racing East Hare Scrambles Championship Series will be promoted by Racer Productions and be held March 7 in Washington, Ga. The series will then hit South Carolina, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and New York before the finale in Lynnville, Ind. The Saturday youth program will join the series in Berwick, Pa., on April 18. The youth series then will combine with the adult series in New Jersey through the finale in Indiana. 2010 AMA Racing East Hare Scrambles Championship Series Schedule Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Round 8 Round 9 Round 10 |
